Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
- Loosen lug nuts on the front wheel, raise the vehicle with a floor jack, and support securely on jack stands.
- Remove the front wheel to access the control arm and suspension components.
- Apply penetrating oil to control arm fasteners and the ball joint nut; allow time to soak if needed.
- Disconnect sway bar end link (if attached) and any brackets or sensors on the control arm.
- Remove the nut securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle, then separate the ball joint using a ball joint separator or pickle fork.
- Unbolt the control arm bushings from the subframe or chassis mounting points and remove the old control arm.
- Compare the new control arm to the old unit to confirm correct orientation and hardware needs.
- Position the new control arm and loosely install mounting bolts to hold it in place.
- Reconnect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and torque the nut to the vehicle manufacturer's specification.
- Tighten the control arm mounting bolts to the specified torque values, then reattach any removed brackets or sway bar links.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
- Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
