Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts, then lift the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands.
- Remove the front wheel to access the suspension components.
- Apply penetrating oil to control arm mounting bolts, ball joint nut, and fasteners; allow time to soak.
- Remove the nut securing the upper ball joint to the steering knuckle. Use a ball joint separator or puller to separate the joint from the knuckle.
- Support the lower control arm or hub assembly to prevent sudden movement, then remove the bolts/nuts securing the upper control arm to the frame or subframe.
- Remove the old control arm from the vehicle and compare to the replacement to confirm correct orientation and parts.
- Install the new control arm into position and loosely install frame mounting bolts and nuts.
- Reconnect the upper ball joint to the steering knuckle and install the ball joint nut; tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
- Torque all control arm mounting hardware to factory specifications with the suspension at the vehicle’s ride height if required (consult service manual).
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to spec.
- Perform a full alignment after installation to ensure correct camber, caster, and toe settings.
