A Solenoid is a cylindrical coil of wire acting as a magnet when carrying electric current. It converts electrical energy into linear motion.
A Transmission Kickdown Solenoid is activated by a full-throttle switch (pedal to the floor) to downshift the transmission to the next available lower gear to gain speed and torque quickly.
