A transmission kick-down solenoid is activated by a full-throttle switch (pedal to the floor) to downshift the transmission to the next available lower gear to gain speed and torque quickly.
This part is NOS and may have surface rust. It was never plated so surface rust is inevitable but will not affect the performance.
Be sure you are replacing the correct part. Always refer to a factory service manual when diagnosing electrical service problems. You can damage these parts if you do not follow the proper procedures. Electrical components are non-returnable parts.
