This 1968-1972 Corvette solenoid valve replaces the original part and functions as the original. This part (GM# 5638276) is mounted on the back side of the tachometer. When energized from the wiper switch, this unit blocks vacuum flow to the control side of the wiper relay value, which then directs the main vacuum to flow to the actuator to open the door.
